The Swiss Army knife is a standard fold-out jackknife that also holds a number of built-in tools (these fold out as well and are contained in the knife handle when not in use). The simplest model has can and bottle openers, standard (flat) and Phillips screwdrivers, a corkscrew, leather punch, and small saw blade; more "deluxe" models hold an array of tools to numerous to list here. A sturdy multipurpose tool that is easily portable, the Swiss Army knife is extremely valuable. All models now in existence predate the disasters that ended the old world and are made of high-grade stainless steel impossible to duplicate with current forging techniques. Some Swiss Army knives are passed down the generations as family heirlooms.
The actual knife blade is less than 3 inches long. It is best reserved as a last resort in combat and is completely useless for intimidation. It does, however, hold an edge better than most blades made today.
